1. Cube (1997)
Suitable for math students, Cube might not be simple for many but it is quite interesting. Characterized by some horror aspects, it is full of fun and a good movie to show a math class of students. The movie has averagely scored 60% reviews by critics which may not reflect what it actually is in terms of quality.
2. Freedom Writers (2007)
This is based on a factual story of a young teacher, Erin Gruwell who is committed to inspiring at-risk students on how to be tolerant to prevailing situations and get to continue with their education past high school level. Despite receiving positive reviews there hasn’t been an overwhelming support for the film looking at the facts and positive themes presented in it. There are no notable awards to it despite educating teenagers on how they can beat the odds to excel in life.
3. Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room (2005)
Business students have a lot to learn from this American documentary of 2005 based on the book by the same title published in 2003. The film exposes details of the biggest business scandals in the history of America. Despite having been nominated for awards, there is much of spotlight given to it for its contribution to making others understand about business affairs of national importance.
4. The Ron Clark Story (2006)
This film is full of inspiration featuring a young teacher who goes to New York City to teach in a public school. He passionately establishes special classroom rules and impacts positively in his students. One of his students, a young girl attending school while taking care of her younger siblings is able to overcome her condition and rise to the top in academic performance. There is much more recognition that should have been given to the movie than the awards won.
