Hollywood Movie Stunts That Went Wrong

As technology has progressed, the type of stunts performed in movies have gotten more and more extreme. Most of the more intense stunts are performed by stunt doubles these days, professionals who look similar to the actor or actress in question and are specifically trained to be able to perform the tasks that are necessary for the scenes.

Afterwards, the footage is edited to make it seem like it was the main actors doing the stunts. These days, the graphics are so good that it’s virtually impossible to know the difference.

However, there are cases in which either actors or actresses choose to do their own stunts, whether they’re as crazy as jumping out of an aeroplane and just a scene the requires a lot of physicality.

Unfortunately, however, there have been cases in which things haven’t quite gone according to plan and these scenes have resulted in injuries.

Here are some of the worst stunts that have gone wrong in Hollywood.

Isla Fisher in “Now You See Me”

Isla Fisher starred in the film, “Now You See Me,” about characters who use magic tricks to deceive unexpected victims in order to pull off heists. While filming one of these so-called tricks, however, things went wrong for Fisher.

In the scene, Fisher’s character was supposed to demonstrate that she could free herself from being tied to the bottom of a full tank of water before flesh-eating piranhas were tossed in. However, one of the chains attached to her ankles got stuck on an additional slat within the tank, preventing her from reaching the top of the tank.

Since the issue she was experiencing in reality was really close to the scene she was supposed to be acting, a lot of the cast didn’t realise at first that she was in trouble. Luckily, she managed to break loose, but it was a close call.

Tom Cruise in “Mission: Impossible Fallout”

Tom Cruise is well known for doing his own stunts, but funnily enough, the one during which is really injured himself was far less extreme than many of the stunts he’s done before.

Tom’s character was supposed to be running across rooftops and jumping between buildings during a chase scene – not too dramatic from Cruise who’s used to jumping out of planes, and so forth.

However, while jumping from one rooftop to another, he landed with his foot against the wall, fracturing it severely. However, he simply stood up and carried on. Afterwards, Toms Cruise reasoned that they’d already gone through all the trouble of filming the first half of the scene and really just didn’t want to have to do it all again.

Linda Blair in “The Exorcist”

One of the scariest movies of all time that’s best followed by some fun, light hearted entertainment at a live casino online, Linda Blair fractured her spine while filming a scene during which a demon is supposed to be inside her. The actress was meant to be strapped into the bed, however, she wasn’t properly secured. As a result, she was flung about aggressively without the cast realising, resulting in her being seriously injured.
